In the video he also clarified that his preferred screen name was now Ster instead of STAR_. He had been suffering depression, which wasn't helped by his viewers. In the beginning of 2021, Ster released What happened to the old STAR_? explaining his absence from YouTube, citing harassment from his fanbase and a constant nagging to return to TF2 as the biggest problems. He became well-known in the Overwatch community as well (though not nearly to the same extent as in TF2), playing on Team USA in the first Overwatch World Cup and casting for the 2016 ESL Atlantic Showdown. In 2016, Ster began to focus more on streaming on Twitch instead of YouTube. When Overwatch was released, he began making videos about it instead, which was an unpopular decision with a large portion of his fanbase. However, eventually Ster began to burn out on TF2, his flagship game. During this time he collaborated on videos with many other players, such as Ma3la, b4nny, and most notably Jerma985. He was known for pushing the game to its absolute limits of comedy, his skill at rocket-jumping with the Soldier, and also playing competitively on several TF2 teams. His TF2 videos were especially popular, and still have millions of views today. Over time he let more of his personality shine through, and his videos leaned more and more towards comedy. He would upload gameplay videos of Team Fortress 2 and Diablo II with a calm atmosphere while giving gaming tips. Ster created his youtube channel in 2007, but wouldn’t start posting videos until 2011.
